On this day you will drive the Golden Circle route, which includes one of Iceland’s most popular places and attractions. You will start the day by getting familiar with the Icelandic Horse and take a one hour horseback riding in the countryside (Approx. drive 40 minutes). Afterwards you will stop at Kerid Crate Lake, which is a 3,000 year old volcanic crater lake, The lake itself is relatively shallow, between 7 and 14 metres depending on rainfall and other factors. After walking around the crater your next stop will be Gullfoss Waterfall one of Iceland’s most beautiful waterfalls. Afterwards you will stop at Geysir Geothermal Area to see the exploding geysers and the lively Strokkur which spouts water 30 metres (100 ft) into the air every few minutes. On your way back to Reykjavik you will visit the Þingvellir National Park, where you can learn about the world’s first parliament and enjoy a light hike through the park.
