You will start the day by taking a 40 – 60 minute helicopter tour. On this sightseeing tour, we make sure to land off the beaten track and away from the crowds to witness the regions raw energy first-hand. In the landing place of Hengill geothermal area – named after the Hengill volcano – you can witness upfront the untouched Icelandic nature. We bring you close to hot springs and boiling mud pots, and you might even see some sheep wandering around the valley in the summer. Note that this is not a regular tourist site, there are no safety ropes etc. – it is just how nature created it. Furthermore, no matter the season or time of year, this area always brings magical, colorful and beautiful views. On our way back we make a scenic pass over Reykjavik, to give you a unique aerial view of Icelands capital.*Please note that the helicopter tour is depending on the weather conditions and can be rescheduled due to weather. In case the helicopter tour is canceled we will offer you to hike to the newly active volcanic eruption site. Optional: Private Hike to the 2021 Volcanic Eruption site at Geldingadalur valley (Duration 3 – 4 hours). Enjoy a hike to the volcanic eruption site that was active between March and September 2021 to see the newly formed lava. The hike will take approximately 1-1,5 hours each way and the trail is conveniently marked. This is an ideal hike if the weather conditions are good. In the afternoon, come aboard a luxurious yacht and see the incredible wealth of marine wildlife that lives in the waters just off the shores of Reykjavík City. Nature lovers looking to see some of Iceland’s majestic whales, dolphins, and porpoises. The most common sights are minke and humpback whales, dolphins, and porpoises. However, there is always a chance to spot a few orcas (also known as killer whales) as well as a wealth of other species. Visit the islands of Engey, Lundey and Viðey, you’ll have a chance to get up close to colonies of endearing puffins and many other migrating bird species, as well as enjoying the extraordinary backdrop of the majestic Mount Esja and the city’s colorful skyline.
