When you arrive in Iceland at Keflavik Airport, your private driver and Deluxe Iceland representative will greet you at the arrivals hall and take you to Reykjavik to pick-up your rental car and go through your trip itinerary in detail with you at your hotel. After settling in, you will have the rest of the day to explore this northernmost capital city of the world with its abundance of museums, restaurants and bars to suit all tastes.
Start the day by heading to the Blue Lagoon to soak in geothermal waters in one of the wonders of the world. There you will have access to the Retreat Spa to relax and float in the soothing warm geothermal waters. After enjoying everything that the Blue Lagoon has to offer you will head to Reykjavik.
On this day you will drive the Golden Circle, which is one of Iceland’s most popular routes. Start the day by visiting Þingvellir National Park, where you will have the chance to walk on a path in the rift valley between the North American and Eurasion tectonic plates. You will then drive to the geothermal area in Haukadalur and see the mighty Geysir and it’s active neighbour, Strokkur which spouts water every few minutes. Next, you will drive to see one of Iceland’s most beautiful waterfalls, Gullfoss( Golden Falls). On your way to Hotel Rangá for the night you can stop at Friðheimar Tomato farm, The theme of Friðheimar cuisine is tomatoes, in many different forms. And that’s not surprising, as four different varieties of tomato are cultivated in the greenhouses where lunch is served among the plants. Unwind and relax at Tindasel Lodge for the night.
On this day you will start by driving to Seljalandsfoss waterfall before heading to Skógafoss Waterfall. There you can take time to catch the perfect photo with this amazing waterfall and take 527 steps up to the observation platform above Skógafoss. Next you will stop at Reynisfjara black sand beach where you can see the jagged basalt rock formations of Reynisdrangar and Dyrhólaey. A guide will take you on the ice for a hiking tour on Sólheimajökull glacier before heading to your hotel for the night.
You will start the day by stopping at the Lava Center, before going to a local farm to get familiar with the Icelandic farm life and enjoy a cup of coffee and Icelandic Pancakes. Afterwards, top the day by going snowmobiling up on Eyjafjallajökull – the infamous glacier that erupted in 2010.
