Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival via the Blue Lagoon

When you arrive in Iceland at Keflavik Airport, your private driver will greet you at the arrival hall and take you to the Blue Lagoon. Where you will have access to the Retreat Spa and soak in geothermal waters. There is a restaurant in the Spa if you want to have a light meal. You can stay up to five hours in the Spa. After enjoying the Blue Lagoon your private driver will take you to your hotel in Reykjavik.

Day 2
Volcano Hike & Horseback Riding

Start the day by taking a one-hour horseback riding tour right outside of Reykjavik before heading to the amazing Reykjanes Peninsula to enjoy a hike to the volcanic eruption site. The Land of Fire and Ice is once again living up to its name! One of the last eruptions in Geldingadalur valley, just south of Fagradalsfjall volcano, left gleaming lava which can be found running in molten rivers and spurting in spectacular jets. The hike will take approximately  1 – 2 hours each way, depending on how close you want to get, and the trail is conveniently marked. This is an ideal hike if the weather conditions are good. This is a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience and should not be missed!

Day 3
The Golden Circle & Snorkeling

On this day you will drive the Golden Circle route, which includes one of Iceland’s most popular places and attractions. You will start with a stop at Þingvellir National Park and go snorkeling in the Silfra fissure between the two continents (Approx. drive 55 minutes). Afterwards you can learn about the world’s first parliament and enjoy a light hike through the park. You will head to Geysir Geothermal Area to see the exploding geysers and the lively Strokkur which spouts water 30 metres (100 ft) into the air every few minutes. After all this, you will visit Gullfoss Waterfall one of Iceland’s most beautiful waterfalls before your guide will take you to your lodge in South Iceland for the night.

Day 4
The South Shore & Glacier Walk

On this day you will get right into the action and head straight for the beautiful Icelandic south shore. You will start the day by driving to the Black Sandy Beach, Reynisfjara (Approx. drive 55 minutes). A guide will take you on the ice for a hiking tour on Sólheimajökull glacier. Afterwards you will be taken to see Skógafoss waterfall, which is one of the biggest waterfalls in Iceland, with a drop of some 60 meters and a width of 25 meters, which you can walk right up to. On your way back, you will stop at Seljalandsfoss waterfall before your guide takes you to your lodge in South Iceland for the night.

Day 5
Eyjafjallajökull Snowmobiling & Farm Visit

You will start the day by visiting a local farm to get familiar with the Icelandic farm life and enjoy a cup of coffee and Icelandic Pancakes. Afterwards top the day by going snowmobiling up on Eyjafjallajökull – the infamous glacier that erupted in 2010.

Day 6
Buggy Adventure, Lava Center & City Tour

In the morning you will start an extreme two-hour buggy tour in front of the private lodge and head into the highlands of Thorsmork, after getting your adrenaline flowing for the day you will return to the lodge for a light lunch and start heading to Reykjavik. In the afternoon your private guide will take you to Hallgrimskirkja church tower where you will have a nice panoramic view over the city, Solfar sun voyager, Harpan concert hall, The Old Harbour, and Bessastaðir – the home of the president, and show you around Reykjavik most popular highlights before checking in at hotel. On the way, you will stop at the Lava Center in Hvolsvöllur.

Day 7
Departure

On the last day you will be picked up by a private driver and driven to the airport in time for your flight. *You have to be at Keflavik airport 2 hours before departure.

Amazing and unique experience, brilliantly planned and executed

Deluxe Iceland planned and executed one of the best trips we’ve ever taken–and we’ve been everywhere! Each day was packed with utterly unique and wonderful experiences–waterfalls, ice caves, snowmobiling on glaciers, ATV rides through geothermal fields, flying over volcanic eruptions, incredible food and wine tours, and more. Each and every aspect of the trip was perfectly planned and seamlessly executed. I can’t think of a thing I would improve upon. Iceland is unlike anyplace I’ve ever been, and Deluxe did an amazing job of putting together a portfolio experiences. HIGHLY recommended.

A great way to begin retirement!!!

My husband and I chose to celebrate our “retirement” by touring Iceland. We corresponded with Deluxe Iceland’s owner, Sig, and from the initial email to the final farewell at the airport we were extremely impressed!! Sig and Fannar, consecutively, were our personal tour guides throughout our trip and both were very professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and personable. They listened to our wants and planned our trip accordingly. At the same time, they were more than willing to veer from the planned schedule if we spotted a “sight” along the route. Sig’s mantra was “no stress” which made us feel relaxed and cared for!! (I have since decided to adopt that mantra!!) We had many great conversations and laughs with both Sig and Fannar and left Iceland feeling like we had made two new friends!! A big thank-you and cheers to Sig and Fannar for making our retirement trip a memory that we will forever treasure!! Bless, bless, Deborah and Bo Passey. (Ontario, Canada) P.S. We highly recommend Deluxe Iceland if Iceland is on your “bucket list.”

Deluxe Iceland summer 2018

My wife and I were planning a little away free time for a few days to Iceland for our first visit, I happened on Deluxe Iceland and was very happy that we used Sig, the most important quality of any good business is service and he goes beyond to give you the best service possible. He is also very knowledgeable about the country and what it has to offer. We are planning to return and would highly recommend Deluxe Iceland as we plan to use them again

Colors of Iceland – A Trip of a Lifetime!

Words cannot express how wonderful our first trip to Iceland was. We contacted Deluxe Iceland and they planned everything for us. We had a private guide who was with us for 4 of the 6 days in Iceland (he only left us when we arrived in Reykjavik). Our guide, Egill, was absolutely amazing, patient, kind, knowledgeable, professional, funny and the list goes on and on . The hotels they booked us into were wonderful, food was fabulous (this was a total surprise for us) and the activities were perfect. A lot was packed into every day, because of only having 5 -6 hours of sunlight, and that was perfect. This trip exceed our expectations. We highly recommend Deluxe Iceland, (and our guide Egill) if you want to travel to Iceland and have an experience of a lifetime!

Epic adventure

This was my first trip to Iceland and I was looking for some adventure and some relaxing. When I found Deluxe Iceland I knew this was the company for me. From the initial inquiry to the airport drop off the level of professionalism from everyone I meet and interacted with was top notch. My guide Unnar was simply fantastic. I was traveling solo and he made sure to get photos for me. The days were planned out perfectly and we adjusted as needed for weather. I can’t wait to start planning my next Iceland adventure with Deluxe Iceland!
